Five physical characteristic to create a conducive learning environment: - Desk arrangements - Student placement - Classroom decoration - Music in the classroom - Class room environment (windows, the classroom’s location, paint)
-The physical environment(size of the room,colours of the walls) -Physical setting(Safe,attractive,comfortable,well designed) -Seating arrangement(position of the teacher’s table,the manner of arrangement of students desks during learning process) -Physical facilities(location of teaching-learning aids,such as projector,computer,television,video,charts and other equipments) -Notice boards(Managing in terms of displaying information,whether satisfies the basic criteris,up-to-date and relevance or not)
the way that the desks in a classroom is arranged will contribute to the effectiveness on the teaching and learning process in a classroom. If the arrangements is proper, the students will be able to pay more attention to the learning process. If it is improper, the students will tend to pay less attention as they may easily get distracted to their surroundings. One example of a proper desk arrangement for a classroom is the 'U' arrangement. Where the desk is arranged in a 'U' shape making the students face inwards to where the teacher is teaching.
